Parklife 2009
Parklife is now in its eighth successful year of showcasing quality new and exciting music and arts. Each year the festival continues to develop and 2009 is no exception.
There will be two performances areas: a main stage and acoustic stage. Interspersed within the music areas are stalls and exhibition spaces for local art and displays. New for this year will be a tea tent serving yummy refreshments.
Parklife is a community festival aimed at showcasing local talent. Rusty Promotions, a not-for-profit organisation, is now on the search for bands and visual artists to perform to a 2000 plus crowd.
If you are interested in performing, send your demo and biography to: Gavin Thomas, Parklife Band Liaison, 43 Beaconsfield Place, Newport Pagnell, Bucks, MK16 0EB.
Alternatively, drop them in the Parklife box at Roy Pink Cycles, High Street, Newport Pagnell.
The festival also needs stewards/marshals aged 18 plus to get stuck in. We can’t offer money but can provide a free festival pack (food, drinks, CDs, t-shirts) for helping out, plus lots of fun on the day and a great addition to any CV. Please contact ryan@rustypromotions.co.uk. There are also opportunities to receive training for stewarding. If this interests you please do drop us a line. Without the help of the local community this festival cannot go ahead.
If you are a school or youth group that would like to become involved with the decor of the festival please email helen@article19.co.uk.
Parklife is a volunteer organisation, but we are always looking for financial sponsors to help maintain standards of health and safety as well as providing quality entertainment. If you think you can help Parklife realise its potentials then please get in touch.
For more info check out www.parklifefest.co.uk and www.rustypromotions.co.uk
Details: Saturday July 18th 12pm-9pm, Ousebank Gardens, High Street, Newport Pagnell. Admission free!!

Parklife 2008 - having a little rest
As many of you now know Parklife is having a little rest this year for a number of reasons that I wont go into here. We will still be doing a mini festival somewhere within Newport Pagnell of a few hundred people, but that is yet to be announced. This doesnt mean we are swanning it off on holiday, if anything its just got busier for this elaborate hobby. This year sees the release of the educational interactive arts pieces (should be showcasing around the various festivals here and away) and workshops are underway for the National dance, music and animation cancer stage piece that should be finished next year. So please sit tight and if you have registered your e-mail we will let you know when it all kicks off. Thanks for all the support so far.....it all started in september 2001 and the local culture scene in MK is stronger than ever!!!

Pondlife 2007
Well heres what happened...after advice from the Enviromental Agency and Police licensing Parklife was moved due to flooding risks and high river speeds and levels. So The Swan Hotel and Cannon Pub allowed us to use there premises to hold the music stages, gallery and childrens area. As you can see from the photos we just got on with it and everything was a success!

Computer Crashes
Unfortunely Rusty has had a big Laptop crash and lost all the e-mails over the last four years, so if you are a band that wants to be part of any of Rusty's projects such as the Library demo scheme then e-mail us again ryan@rustypromotions.co.uk
